AVP, Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity Counsel

AVP, Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity Counsel The candidate will support of and independent advice and guidance on all intellectual property matters in the Americas, including maintenance and growth of patent and trademark portfolios; patent, trademark and copyright clearance; IP litigation; brand enforcement; UDRP proceedings; IP licensing and IP-components of commercial and M&A transactions and IP commercialization. Will support of and independent advice on cybersecurity legal issues, including regulatory advocacy, regulatory interpretation and implementation, cyber incident preparedness and response, investigations, education and awareness training. Provide advice on legal and reputational risks associated with intellectual property and assist business stakeholders in making decisions and finding solutions. Support Head of Intellectual Property, Americas in relation to IP governance matters including the operation of the firm's Policy on Intellectual Property and the associated standards. Assist with management of the bank s Americas-based portfolio of intellectual property assets and advise business stakeholders on strategic approach to growing the IP portfolio. Support managing of protection of a growing pipeline of new concepts, products & services through collaboration business and functions stakeholders. Manage patent, trademark and copyright clearance and analysis. Support management of intellectual property contentious matters, including litigations, oppositions, cancellations, UDRP proceedings and trademark enforcement program in the Americas. Provide IP specialist advice and negotiate IP-specific terms in the context of commercial and M&A transactions. Assist with management of external counsel and legal spend with respect to intellectual property activities in the Americas. The candidate should have JD or LLM degree from accredited US law school. Must have 3+ years of legal experience. Must have Admission to NY Bar. Deep familiarity with IP law (patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret) either from transactional or litigation perspective is preferred. Some familiarity with cybersecurity regulations (e.g., breach notification regulations; DFS Part 500) is preferred. Understanding of the financial services industry is preferred.
