Attorney Editor State and Federal Litigation Ref: LEX00IB4 The candidate will help deliver a compelling and all-purpose practical guidance legal product across targeted markets as a member of a multi-disciplined team of content developers, product planners, external consultants, IT specialists, and marketing and sales representatives. Develop, write and edit practical guidance, including practice notes, checklists and forms on litigation practice and procedure in state and federal courts. Recruit and manage external authors. Make recommendations concerning overall content development strategy and expansion, and assist in product design. Monitor competitiveness of the product offering. Monitor litigation practice area for trends/news. Assist with delivering customer facing messaging/marketing, sales, and customer training/customer service. Must have active Bar membership in good standing. Should preferably have 6+ years of litigation experience as a litigator, primarily in state court(s), though familiarity with federal court. Significant experience in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, document discovery, taking and defending depositions, motion practice, settlements, appeals and creating an overall general litigation strategy is required. Deep knowledge of litigation workflow is needed. Excellent writing, editing, and online legal research skills; strong practical writer with the ability to write effectively and concisely; experience with editing, presenting CLEs, and/or drafting client alerts is desired. Comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in conducting online research is must.
