Senior Corporate Counsel - HR Compliance The candidate will be responsible for the creation, implementation, monitoring, improvement, and maintenance of the company's policies and procedures that ensure compliance with human resources and legal best practices. Will act as liaison between the Legal department and other departments to ensure that compliance concerns are properly prioritized and implemented. Work closely with business colleagues, outside counsel and insurance carriers; handle legal questions regarding PEOs, payroll, benefits and HR services; provide advice and deliver resolutions to complex legal issues in the areas of human resources and employment law; and handle miscellaneous business and compliance matters referred to the Legal department. Manage an enterprise-wide HR and payroll compliance program. Work closely with and oversee internal colleagues in addressing human resource and payroll compliance concerns. Recognize and incorporate applicable laws, regulations, and government and industry standards and guidelines that directly or indirectly apply to HR and Payroll, in the US and globally. Draft employment-related policies and address process and policy issues and provide guidance and recommendations for optimal resolution. Research and respond to questions from business colleagues related to legal requirements for PEOs, payroll, benefits and HR services. Provide advice and counsel in the areas of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, WARN Act, and related state and local laws. Thoroughly understand and have real-life experience with HR and payroll compliance and applicable federal, state and global laws; know how to manage communications, coordination, and technical assistance with administrative agencies and law enforcement. Assist with the day to day legal aspects of employee investigations, including managing projects and documenting incident response. Oversee internal and third-party risk impact assessment processes. Provide education and guidance to the internal colleagues and teams on matters relating to human resources and employment law. Review marketing materials and employee communications related to HR. Respond to miscellaneous business and employment matters referred to Department. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing with a State Bar. Must have 7-10 years of legal experience with employment law (in-house experience preferred). Should have broad knowledge of labor and employment laws; and the know-how to identify and resolve issues in collaboration with other subject-matter experts. Must have solid experience educating, advising, and counseling all levels of employees, including executives and risk-related committees of the Board of Directors. Investigative experience is a plus. Some travel may be required.
