Counsel, Litigation The candidate will provide assistance in preparation of document productions and discovery in class action, commercial, intellectual property, dealer and product liability litigation. Will conduct forensic technical investigations. Ensure that the company's forensic discovery search and production procedures are updated, defensible and state of the art. Provide assistance to engineers in connection with document and data searches for NHTSA and other regulatory inquiries and investigations. Handle and/or provide assistance in management of defense of business, class action, and product liability cases nationwide. Conduct legal research as needed. Conduct and manage processes in connection with the defensible electronic forensic investigation of company documents in class action, general commercial, patent, dealer, and product liability litigation. Coordinate the collection and production of company discovery materials with company Legal and relevant company custodians in connection with business, class action, and product liability litigation. Assist in the preparation of detailed draft responses to discovery requests including interrogatories, requests for production of documents and requests for admissions. Coordinate the preparation of final responses with outside counsel. Assist in the preparation and defense of company and company technical witnesses in business, class action, and product liability litigation. Handle and/or provide assistance in management of defense of business, product liability, warranty, and class action cases nationwide. Prepare documents for discovery production in litigated matters. Assist in implementation and development of company's legal hold policies and procedures. Assist with document management system. Ensure compliance with records management program policies. Conduct legal, including Westlaw, and investigative research as required. Negotiate special rates from outside vendors. Select/terminate and manage vendors in conjunction with purchasing department. Position requires working with records management program and e-Discovery to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Bachelor's degree is required and Master's degree is a plus. Should have a J.D. degree. Must have 2 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation. Strong drafting and negotiating skills are needed. Should be a member of California State Bar Association.
