Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will serve as the primary compliance advisor to the North America Presidents of both therapeutic groups as well as their respective leadership teams. Will report to the global Chief Compliance Counsel for Vaccines and Rare Disease and will have a close working relationship with the Chief Counsel to ensure alignment and consistency of the North America compliance program with that of the culture and vision of the global business units. Manage and engage in proactive North America compliance activities including: identification, assessment and mitigation of risk; implementation of corporate and divisional policies and procedures within Vaccines and Rare Disease and the development of business unit-specific guidance or policies as needed; updating of policies and procedures; development and/or execution of training curriculum and program in key areas; anticipation of emerging trends and changes to the political, legal, and regulatory landscape by working with the business and additional supporting colleagues; and proactive development of tools to drive compliance and enhance compliance culture within the North America Vaccines and Rare Disease businesses. Work closely with business unit compliance colleagues to ensure consistency and leverage best practices across all therapeutic groups. Assist with preparation and delivery of quarterly Compliance Committee meetings, in coordination with Vaccines and Rare Disease Chief Compliance Counsel, including updating business unit leadership on any on-going environment and government investigations and ensuring execution of relevant North America action items. Develop and deliver compliance-oriented trainings for North America Vaccines and Rare Disease colleagues (on-boarding, POAs and other sales meetings, leadership meetings) with particular focus on field-facing roles (sales, account management, field medical). Provide risk identification and mitigation support to the Vaccines and Rare Disease businesses throughout the business plan cycle. Partner with Vaccines and Rare Disease leaders to assist with key compliance-oriented communications throughout the business year (year-beginning, town halls, year-end, performance updates, product launches, etc.). Oversee relevant leader compliance certification process including analysis of corresponding metrics and review with management. Understand, coordinate, and provide support for North America proactive monitoring efforts; assist with remediation, training and corrective actions. Coordinate with key stakeholders in preparation of annual needs and risk assessments and other compliance related controls. Consult with Compliance Investigations team on management of potential investigative issues in NA Vaccines and Rare Disease; assist with remediation and corrective actions including training and managerial support. Work with Compliance Investigations group and as appropriate Government Investigations to manage and understand any active NA Vaccines and Rare Disease compliance investigations, communicate findings to leadership, and facilitate appropriate remediation. Coordinate with various operational functions to help ensure effective monitoring and guidance to detect and mitigate compliance risks across more recurring activities; conduct observational field visits and support speaker program audit process. Align with Global Commercial Operations and business management on compliant structure and execution of incentive compensation and sales performance contests. JD degree required. Should have admission to practice law in the US, EU or other major market. Must have 10+ years of related legal experience.
