Contracts Attorney The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of the organization's contracts, including maintaining a current list of project work-in-process; triaging project requests from departments and administering the department's SharePoint site (including the process for project submission). Drafting, reviewing and editing letters, contracts, templates and other documents in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulatory requirements and the District's standard, preferred and/or required contract language, as assigned by department leadership and in coordination with the Senior Attorney. Developing and periodically reviewing contract templates and standard contract language to ensure consistency with district policies and applicable federal and state laws; including overseeing the document assembly library (HotDocs) in coordination with other members of the department. Overseeing the timely and accurate preparation and provision of reports, information and documents to support audits, surveys and other internal requests, as requested by and in coordination with department leadership. Performing legal research as requested. Coordinates with and backs up the contracts administrator to facilitate execution of contracts. Presents on behalf of legal department to new employee and/or new leader orientations as requested. Initiates and completes approved process improvement projects as requested by and in coordination with department leadership. Attends meetings as requested. Serves as a resource for internal departments on legal questions as requested by and in coordination with department leadership. Participates in continuing education programs and remains current on applicable laws impacting contracting by government healthcare entities, including but not limited to the Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA and chapter 70.44 RCW governing public hospital districts. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Should have JD degree. Must be licensed to practice law in Washington or licensed in another state and admitted in Washington within 1 year of hire and 4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, or 2 years of work with the legal department of a Public Hospital District. Must be proactive, self-directed and take initiative.
