Compliance Attorney The candidate will oversee regulatory compliance of title and escrow operations throughout the country. Will recommend and implement compliance initiatives which match the title industry regulatory environment as well provide legal support in relation to key regulatory requirements impacting the title industry at the state and federal level (including RESPA and state level equivalents). Responsibilities will include overseeing internal audits of the company, and of potential acquisitions targets, as well as dealing with external audits and vetting requests. Will provide advice and counsel to team players on legal and regulatory requirements as needed. Involved with implementing the Corporate Compliance Program designed and run by our parent company. Respond to legal inquiries from, and provide legal advice to, team players. Develop compliance initiatives as needed to address changing regulatory and legal requirements. Liaison with title industry groups. Supervise audits of internal operations. Conduct diligence of potential acquisition targets. Conduct internal investigations. Work with business unit leaders to increase awareness of the importance of the Corporate Compliance program, including the leaders' reporting obligations thereto. Coordinate with the Ethics and Compliance group of our parent company, Realogy Holdings Corp. Assist General Counsel with various other legal and department initiatives. Must have 5-8 years experience in title/escrow industry primarily in a compliance and/or legal role. Should be admitted and in good standing to practice law in the State of New Jersey (or have the ability to get a Limited License to practice in NJ as in-house counsel). In-house experience is preferred. Knowledge of title industry and familiarity title industry related laws regulations (e.g. RESPA) is needed.
