Legal- Assistant General Counsel - Commercial Banking - VP

Legal- Assistant General Counsel - Commercial Banking - VP The candidate will support product strategy initiatives and the approval of new business initiatives. Support the negotiation and approval of Product related agreements including account documentation and responses to client Requests for Proposals. Provide direct legal support to implementation and service teams, and provide legal advice to such business units on their related control policies and procedures. Participate in various projects and forums to meet legal, regulatory or other goals including improving customer experience. Partner with Risk, Controls, and Compliance colleagues regarding operational and regulatory risk and control issues. Review internal and customer facing Product-related communications including product terms, marketing and training materials; disclosures; and incident response communications. Provide targeted training. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing in Illinois, or have the ability to obtain in-house bar membership in Illinois. Should have 5+ years of post-JD practicing experience with a law firm or in-house legal department at a financial institution, governmental body, consulting firm or other large corporation with demonstrated experience on increasingly complex matters. Must have understanding of core commercial banking products and services including treasury services contracts, credit card processing, funds transfer, credit card services and secured lending is preferred. JD degree or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
