Lead Counsel, Data Center Construction And Design

Lead Counsel, Data Center Construction And Design The candidate will assist with the design, construction, expansion, renovation, and repair of s data center campuses in the U.S. and internationally. Will work will include the negotiation and drafting of the broad array of agreements necessary to complete the design and construction of new data centers (conceptual engineering phases through commissioning) and renovation, repair, and expansion of existing data centers for s active Infrastructure Design and Construction team. Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the dozens of active construction projects at any given time. Work closely with s Data Center Strategy and Development team to ensure that data center design and construction contracts account for site specific variables. Work closely with s Tax and Economic Development teams to comply with applicable tax agreements. Flag issues and seek guidance from other subject matter experts as needed (e.g., employment counsel, risk management, tax experts, etc.). Closely manage and direct outside counsel. Counsel s Infrastructure Design and Construction team on the above areas including strategy and planning, insurance requirements, and tax and other incentives. Must have JD degree and membership in at least one state Bar. Should have 4+ years of experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating construction and design agreements for construction projects. Must have drafting and negotiating experience along with business judgment and experience thinking strategically. Should have experience managing simultaneous national and international projects under deadlines. Membership in California state bar preferred. Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating construction and design agreements on a global basis for construction projects similar in scale to data center desired. Experience with economic development projects a plus.
