Senior Counsel, Litigation and Compliance The candidate will work under the supervision of, and reports to, the company s General Counsel, and responsible for managing and/or assisting with litigation, claims, investigations, charges, and disputes. Other responsibilities will include directly supporting the Chief Compliance Officer and business in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company s compliance program; and working with the company s Risk and Compliance Manager on insurance policy renewal, maintenance, and coverage issues, and counseling and training on risk management matters. Managing and overseeing all aspects of the company s personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, premises liability, workers compensation, labor and employment, commercial, and other litigation matters and claims from inception to trial and appeal or settlement. Developing case resolution strategies, monitoring legal and litigation trends, preparing and managing litigation budgets, preparing or editing pleadings and settlement documents, and representing the company in legal proceedings, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution forums. Supporting the company s compliance program by: identifying and monitoring critical risks and gaps; actively participating in the company s corporate risk review process; reviewing and developing written policies and standards of conduct; developing and conducting training and awareness programs, and preparing Board and executive-level reports and updates on compliance statistics and efforts. Working with the Chief Compliance Officer, Internal Audit, Risk Management, and/or Human Resources personnel to: monitor alert and hotline reports; conduct internal monitoring and auditing of policies and conduct; implement corrective action plans; respond to internal and government investigations, and investigate and respond to charges and complaints filed with government agencies. Working with the company s Risk and Compliance Manager and Director of Contracts to: assess scope and amount of insurance coverage; bid and award insurance products; negotiate policy terms; review and negotiate contractual insurance provisions; ensure timely reporting of claims; oversee coverage issues and disputes; prepare and update safety policies, and counsel business clients with respect to litigation avoidance and corrective measures to control risk.

The candidate must have 5+ years of related law firm or in-house experience, and a JD degree from an ABA approved law school. Should have Georgia Bar member or eligible to practice as an in-house attorney in Georgia. Significant experience with litigation, investigations, and insurance coverage, with experience in or a willingness to learn compliance and risk management is required.
