Director, Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property The candidate will be an integral member of the small and dynamic Legal Team, which is responsible for proactively assessing and managing all global legal issues for the Company. Will be responsible for providing a broad range of legal services, including strategic advice, to the Company related to intellectual property. Manage all global litigation and disputes relating to trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, patents, right of publicity, and other intellectual property rights. Oversee the management and expansion of the global trademark portfolios for all brands and new initiatives. Continue to develop the patent prosecution strategy for software, product design, and other patents. Counsel the business on intellectual property issues in agreements and business relationships, including with vendors and business partners. Oversee the global online enforcement program and domain name proceedings. Conduct IP training for product development teams. Supervise the legal clearance processes relating to catalogs, product designs, product names, and other matters with the assistance of a legal analyst. Responsible for overseeing copyright registrations for catalogs and products. Collaborate effectively across the Company, partnering closely with management, outside counsel, and internal clients across all brands and departments. While this position calls for a substantial amount of independence, the successful candidate will operate as part of a close-knit team of supportive, open, friendly lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals. The candidate should have Juris Doctor degree with academic achievement from an accredited law school, and are licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one state. Must have 6 years of legal experience focused on intellectual property matters, including practice at a top law firm. Experience in-house and within a consumer-focused business is preferred. Must have demonstrated the ability to work creatively, efficiently, and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and respond immediately to issues. Must have excellent written, verbal, and communication skills, with an ability to listen actively and to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization. Must have superior organization and project management skills.
