Litigation and Investigations Counsel The candidate will manage a variety of litigation and investigation matters, claims, and disputes on behalf of company, including complex commercial and product liability litigation, shareholder litigation, employment-related litigation, government litigation and investigations, antitrust litigation and False Claims Act litigation. Will also direct privileged internal investigations and engage with law enforcement on certain matters. Develop strategy for successful outcomes and manage litigation and investigations to strategic objectives within budget; hire, supervise, and work closely with outside trial counsel; provide oversight to in-house paralegals; engage in and drive early evaluation and resolution of claims; and provide legal advice and counsel to business units on issues related to risk assessment and litigation risk avoidance. Report to the Vice President, Chief Litigation and Investigations Counsel or another management level litigation attorney. Evaluate and supervise litigation and investigations involving various company business units, including matters relating to complex commercial, product liability, securities, False Claims Act, antitrust and employment-related litigation, as well as government and internal investigations. Direct privileged internal investigations involving compliance issues. Hire, supervise and manage outside counsel. Develop and manage budgets for efficient and effective management of cases. Achieve resolution of litigation on appropriate and favorable terms. Provide day-to-day work direction and feedback to paralegal and administrative support personnel. Consult and collaborate with company strategic business counsel on issues relating to litigation strategy, exposure and risk.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree from a nationally recognized law school. Must have 5+ years of overall litigation or investigations experience with 2+ years of complex civil litigation experience and 3+ years of government litigation and investigations experience. Should be licensed to practice law and in good standing under the Bar of at least one state. Experience participating in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings, including trials is required. Experience managing collection and production of documents and electronic records in response to legal process is needed. Experience with direct client contact providing strategic litigation and risk management advice is essential. Experience dealing with federal and state law enforcement agencies is a must. Trial attorney experience is preferred. Strong experience and skill with management of e-data and e-discovery issues is an asset. Medical background or knowledge is a plus. Experience with complex securities litigation is desired. Experience with complex product liability litigation is ideal. Experience with employment law is a plus.
