Associate General Counsel - Corporate The candidate will bring proven strength in general corporate law, securities, M&A, legal project management, corporate governance and other areas important to a rapidly growing company. Will engage with team members and key partners across the organization. Find opportunities for process improvement that will make an impact on business strategy. Identify problems we face and begin to work collaboratively toward solutions. Prioritize key projects and identify milestones. Take responsibility for implementing projects, including those identify. Execute strategies by engaging team members inside and outside the legal department. Transition into leading some outside counsel. Maintain corporate governance at a high level. Be seen as the go-to resource by senior leadership and other organization members regarding areas of legal and business strategy. See the bottom-line impact of improvements. Prepare to become a personnel leader through internal and external development opportunities. Responsible for corporate governance, securities, M&A, and other functional issues. Work with compliance, IP and other groups. Ideally impact employment, product design, marketing, privacy, IP protection, and other functional areas. Provide a broad range of legal advice to the legal team and senior management. Present directly to executives on topics of expertise. Work to support other areas of the business, including other counsel. Lead outside counsel relationships as appropriate. Bring a broad generalist practice to bear on the many challenges we will face together. Support corporate and securities transitions to support growth strategy. The candidate should have Juris doctorate degree. Must have In good standing with State Bar / eligible to practice as in-house counsel. Motivation for and experience advising any potential future corporate strategy including: M&A, IPO or other securities issuance, and continued independence is required. Must have 5+ years relevant experience, preferably in high-growth environments or through meaningful outside counsel experience. Must have experience combining legal judgment with high business aptitude in support of a complex mission. Healthcare / technology / growth experience preferred. Experience in IP protection, employment, privacy or other related areas a plus.
