Corporate Counsel / Senior Compliance Manager The Candidate will be responsible for Partner with General Counsel to formalize governance model for compliance program. Develop governance model for policies, maintain and revise policies and procedures designed to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct. Experience with government contracting is critical. Work with Abt communications professionals and the Learning Team to develop communications strategy and programs to educate, train and motivate employees to embrace the importance of and ensure compliance with the Code of Ethics, policies and the law. Interact with business units, senior Abt leadership, and leaders of corporate functions to implement and monitor the compliance program. Develop, execute, and maintain processes that provide for the uniform handling of ethical, compliance and employee policy violations, and which ensure that the company quickly identifies suspected incidents of non-compliance and that each is dealt with effectively and consistently within those guidelines. Conduct investigations and manage responses to potential compliance issues. Develop systems to continually evaluate the effectiveness of ethics compliance activities and processes, addressing ethical trends that have broad implications for the Company. Support Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer by preparing reports for Finance and Audit Committee. Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

The candidate should have10-12 years of experience and BA degree (JD preferred) or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Should have effective communication skills and ability to negotiate and sell ideas, concepts and innovations to executives and employees at all levels of the organization. Superior written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization. Excellent judgment and the capacity to make decisions and give advice which demonstrates an understanding of the risk/rewards of each situation. Practical and creative problem analysis and resolution skills. Maturity and strong leadership skills with the capacity to articulate positions and provide direction. Excellent organizational skills. Superlative project management skills. Strong executive presence  and the ability to quickly gain the confidence of clients, enhanced by a strong sense of team and outstanding people skills. Flexibility of style as a member of multi-disciplinary team and as a business person. Integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and prioritize work assignments as needed to meet client needs.
