Corporate Counsel - Environmental, Health, and Safety Litigation Management The candidate will provide legal support to firm's with respect to environmental, health, and safety matters associated with a global manufacturing, publically-traded company. Will manage environmental sites and remediation efforts. Represent firm's in OSHA proceedings. Assist plant personnel with OSHA site inspections and any remedial actions required. Proactively monitor for legal developments and advise businesses on potential impact operations. Provide day-to-day oversight and drive strategy on pending cases. Conduct early case assessments (e.g. witness interviews, legal research, evidence review) to support pre-litigation dispute resolution and internal investigations. Work with U.S. and global vehicle regulatory subject matter experts, including vehicle emissions certification, onboard diagnostics, fuels and lubes, engine calibration, tailpipe emissions, fuel economy and greenhouse gas engineers and management. Handle litigation and compliance enforcement, including interacting with federal and state environmental agencies. Contribute to firm's legal and technical interaction with trade associations, and provide counsel for development and tracking of our internal and external regulations, statutes, and policy matters. Provide legal advice and counsel to EH&S organization with respect to all aspects of stationary environmental issues.

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have 5-10 years experience representing companies in either an in-house or outside capacity in the various EH&S matters. Must have ability to collaborate with business partners, stakeholders, internal attorneys, and outside counsel. Experience with product environmental stewardship legal requirements and sustainability matters, including REACH, WEEE, ROHS, TSCA, Prop 65 preferred; facility environmental matters such as CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, RCRA, and the SDWA also a plus. Experience should include a wide range of litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters, including: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) citizen suit actions; Clean Air Act New Source Review (NSR) enforcement actions; Litigation and voluntary remediation under federal and state clean-up programs; Environmental, health, and safety due diligence and Compliance counseling, including drafting company-wide procedures related to aspects of environmental law. Experience in manufacturing and/or automobile products industries is helpful and preferred. Legal knowledge and depth of environmental, health, and safety experience comparable to similar level of attorney at a major law firm is preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills preferred.
