Counsel, Patent Litigation Duties: Actively participating in management of patent litigation. Assisting with day-to-day tasks associated with case management, assisting with interviewing fact and expert witnesses, and collaborating with outside counsel and internal counsel in the development of strategies and arguments. Assisting in internal document collection and production, including working with the internal e-discovery team. Reviewing correspondence, arguments, memos, and briefs in support of litigation. Assisting in providing instruction to foreign litigation counsel and in the day-to-day tasks associated with multi-jurisdictional litigation teams. Assisting in evaluating the company s patent portfolio in advance of litigation and other activities designed to maximize the strength of the IP assets. Collaborating with other IP department professionals to secure and assert the company s patents world-wide.

Qualifications: JD Degree and admission to at least one U.S. State Bar and the Patent Bar. 3+ years of relevant experience with a law firm. Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, chemistry, pharmacy or other related life-sciences. Preference is given to individuals with in house experience. Preference is given to individuals having experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology patent litigation. Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, goals, needs and solutions. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is critical. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a team and with a variety of different personalities. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to focus on critical priorities with little or no supervision. Strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work under deadline pressure. Demonstrated ability to manage and handle sensitive and confidential business information.
