Legal - Assistant General Counsel - Card and Auto Litigation VP The candidate will join the DLG s Collections Litigation Legal Group. Will work with our business partners to support past and future collections litigation efforts for CCB s auto and credit card businesses. Auto-focused work will include replevin, repossession, and deficiency balances, while credit card work will focus on the recovery of defaulted loans. Assist both lines of business in continually improving the collections litigation process, making strategic litigation decisions, managing escalated cases, and assisting in overseeing outside counsel and internal processes for sworn documents used in collections litigation. Duties: The responsibilities of the position include: Partnering with the Card and Auto lines of business to evaluate, implement, and improve consistent and strategically-sound Collections Litigation practices and procedures; Evaluating, defining, and drafting collections litigation strategies and business processes; Managing and interacting with outside collections litigation counsel in all jurisdictions across the country, including providing strategic direction; Partnering with company s legal oversight group in supervising outside counsel; Overseeing the contents and execution of sworn documents used in collections litigation; and Directly handling and solving escalated collections litigation issues.

A J.D. or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment. Should have 5+ years of practicing litigation experience. Should have in-house legal experience, including working with Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit. Must have experience with state and local rules of civil procedure. Experience handling a wide range of litigation from small matters to multimillion dollar cases is needed. Should have advanced legal research skills. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Should have strong organizational skills and the ability to drive complex projects. Dedication to protecting the reputation of company throughout the litigation process is required. Should have working knowledge of FDCPA and related debt collections laws, as well as familiarity with TCPA, SCRA, UDAAP, FCRA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
