Employment and Litigation Counsel The candidate will work closely with People and Recruiting teams, as well as with other members of the Legal team, advising at all levels of the organization both domestically and internationally. Provide daily advice and counseling on a range of employment law issues, including recruiting, hiring, diversity and inclusion, performance management, accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, privacy, and immigration. Develop and implement employment, recruiting and compensation practices, policies, and trainings that balance legal compliance with a healthy and vibrant employee culture. Draft and review employment-related agreements and templates. Collaborate with outside counsel on international employment and immigration issues. Review and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries. Serve as central point of coordination for all litigation matters in the company, including coordination and tracking of responses and facilitation of discovery. Develop systems to track ongoing litigation matters, create cooperative and efficient relationships with outside counsel, and institute and train relevant offices on best practices for discovery searches and response. Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers, enforcing budget discipline and innovating to achieve cost and operational efficiencies.

The candidate should have JD degree with strong academic credentials. Must be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state (ideally California). Should have 4+ years relevant experience working on employment and litigation matters in-house or at a Vault 100 law firm. Experience developing and presenting training to employees and managers a plus. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability: The ability to manage multiple matters/project for multiple teams.. The ability to work in a team, with lawyers and non-lawyers, to establish effective solutions efficiently and in an amenable manner. Ability to draft documents, policies, messages and anything else in a very precise manner, while still being concise and digestible for non-lawyers.
