Corporate and Finance Counsel The candidate will be structuring, negotiating, reviewing and drafting a variety of commercial banking and finance agreements with external banking and finance partners. Wn advising on internal finance and treasury matters, including payment processes and systems. Assisting with GM s corporate debt, including its public notes, revolving credit agreement and other borrowing and financing transactions around the globe. Creating and maintaining, in partnership with tax, treasury and accounting, a process for management of banking and financing transactions. Coordinating with other legal staff colleagues around the world and, when appropriate, managing outside counsel and local counsel in a variety of jurisdictions around the globe. Lead or assist with additional programs and initiatives related to corporate and finance matters. Law degree from an accredited college or university is needed. Admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction in the United States and, if not admitted in Michigan, the ability to qualify for in-house counsel status in Michigan is essential. Should have 5-9 years of experience in banking and finance transactions is required. Corporate and finance training in a large law firm is strongly preferred. Prior in-house experience with a large company is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of automotive industry environment and business needs is a plus. Experience working with and/or leading cross-functional and global teams on legal matters is preferred. Ability to collaborate, build relationships, gain credibility, and partner effectively with others up and down a matrixed organization is needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.
