Contracts Counsel Responsibilities: Review and analysis of arrangements between hospitals and other parties on compliance for Stark, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and any other regulatory requirements applicable to such arrangements; Manage and direct the work of contract managers, providing consistent and constructive feedback; Review, draft and negotiate contracts; Work closely with Compliance staff to ensure OUMI contracts meet company policies and compliance requirements; Assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to OUMI contracts; Conduct legal research, as necessary; Provide education and support on contract matters, including adherence to OUMI policy and alignment with company strategy and core values; Work with and manage outside counsel selected to assist with contract matters; Communicate effectively with executives and management regarding legal implications of contracts and contract provisions; and Other duties as assigned by the CLC.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an ABA-accredited institution. Current license and Bar affiliation in the State of Oklahoma or the ability to get licensed. 3+ years of experience in health care law with a working knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, especially those that are implicated in contracts on behalf of a healthcare provider. 3+ years of experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts. Prior law firm experience or previous in-house experience is preferred. Excellent project management skills, ability to execute on plan, deliver results and manage external legal costs and management/decision-making experience. Experience in health care transactional matters is desired. Experience in managing a contracting process for an organization is preferred. Ability to handle and be extremely responsive to a high volume of diverse requests. Strong legal analytical, drafting, negotiation and communication skills required to: identify and manage complex legal and contract issues; develop and implement creative solutions; and regularly advise the Chief Legal Counsel on matters of strategic importance, compliance concern, and increased legal risk. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint] or similar software is required. Prior experience in managing a corporate contracting process and/or managing staff involved in the contracting process is desired. Will be an individual of highest personal and professional integrity, principles and knowledge, earning respect and support when making difficult decisions and choices. Must have a strong customer service orientation, be self-motivated, organized, a team player and work well in high-energy, faced paced environment. Must have excellent project management skills, the ability to execute on plan, deliver results and manage external legal costs. Must have strong executive presence, have superb interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the company, including top executives, managers, and outside counsel. Will involve handling confidential matters, the successful candidate must have good judgment and discretion.
