Counsel Litigation Duties: Lead the strategy and defense of diverse routine and complex litigation to ensure that position is fully, properly and accurately presented to the courts through effective partnering of in-house and outside attorneys. Working with outside counsel nationwide, he/she will monitor the quality and effectiveness of its legal work and supervise the coordination of the legal and factual arguments advanced by the company, ensuring case effectiveness, consistency and adherence to company objectives Manage litigation spend to ensure alignment with legal function goals and objectives, including the use of AFAs and alternative service providers, while optimizing outcomes and minimizing budget impact. Conduct internal investigations to develop company witnesses, ascertain factual information, locate relevant documents (including electronic documents) to prepare discovery responses, and develop case arguments and responses to subpoenas or other external demands Recommend litigation strategies and proposed methods for ultimate case resolution including the assessment of trial risks and settlement values. Partner with functional and business units to create risk management and mitigation strategies, participating in enterprise risk management efforts, compliance effectiveness reviews, and legal trainings; provide internal trainings on topics such as careful communications and attorney client privilege.

Qualifications: Higher Education from accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Law Degree required. Bar admission in at least one US state required; qualified to obtain NJ limited license for in-house counsel required. 7+ years of general litigation experience either in house or law firm. Must display superior leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability to navigate adeptly within a matrix organization and cross-culturally required. Prior experience required in handling electronic discovery. Prior experience preferred in negotiating, assessing and implementing AFAs for a wide variety of litigation matters. Prior experience in, or knowledge of, asbestos litigation preferred. Prior experience in, or knowledge of, patent litigation preferred. Strong organizational skills; sound business and legal judgment; excellent cross-cultural communication skills to manage and support global businesses; constructively interact with diverse groups at all levels of organization. Strong strategic perspective with and ability to understand, assess, and clearly communication big  picture legal and commercial concepts to business partners (clients). Team oriented, collaborative work style, with strong self-initiative and ability to work independently.
