Tax Counsel The candidate will provide research, analysis, advice and presentations with respect to federal domestic and international income tax and other tax matters (such as transactional tax planning, tax compliance, tax treaty matters and transfer pricing). Will manage and implement tax planning and other projects; (iii) support the resolution of tax disputes such as tax audits, competent authority proceedings and litigation in both the US and foreign jurisdictions; and review and analyze proposed legislation and regulations for comments and recommendations. Must have Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school and member in good standing of a State Bar. LLM in Taxation is preferred. Should have 6-12 years of total tax law experience from working at a large law firm, Big 4 accounting firm or large multinational company. 4+ years with a large law firm is required. Excellent tax research and analytical skills and decision-making capabilities is needed. Extensive experience in Subchapter C corporate tax planning is must. Experience in general corporate transactional tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures is essential. Experience in dealing with international and cross-border tax planning issues is preferred. Business/ Accounting degree or experience is desired. Subchapter K partnership experience is a plus. Transfer pricing experience is an asset. US tax controversy experience is helpful.
