Trademark Corporate Counsel The candidate responsible for providing legal guidance, direction, and support to internal stakeholders of company and its affiliates in the trademark practice area. Provides guidance to legal support staff, manages outside counsel, implements tactics, policies and procedures and activities necessary to establish and maintain the company trademark portfolio, and prosecute and defend trademark-related claims and cases. Provides legal counsel in support of the acquisition, clearance, adoption, use, licensing and enforcement of trademarks and other related intellectual property. Employee takes leadership role to actively support the Legal Department quality initiatives. Tracks legal trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement as appropriate for company. Prepares, negotiates, and interprets contracts. Prepares and implements policies and practices in response to legal and regulatory requirements. Prepares and delivers training regarding legal and regulatory requirements.

A Bachelor degree is required as is a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar also required. This role typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with at least 3-5 of those years in a law firm and/or corporate legal department. Should have high level of integrity, excellent judgment and analytical skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issues. Must have excellent decision making and problem solving skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening skills) and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence. Should have organization, planning and research skills. An ability to provide sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of company and its subsidiaries as well as responds to clients needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives is required.
