Senior Corporate Counsel, Global Vendor Policy and Compliance California - San Francisco Job Category Legal Job Details Description: The Salesforce Legal Team delivers innovative, trusted and world-class legal services to advance and protect Salesforce's interests while creating a fulfilling work environment for our Legal family. The Senior Corporate Counsel/Director will bring significant transactional and ideally also policy experience to lead our vendor policy and compliance efforts, including initiatives designed to minimize Salesforce s risk when engaging third party providers of goods, services, and technology, and to ensure such providers comply with applicable privacy, anti-corruption, and labor laws and regulations. This is predominantly a non-transactional position for a candidate with transactional experience who desires to focus on the policies and processes associated with vendor contractual and legal compliance. The successful candidate will join the Salesforce Procurement Legal team and will be based in our San Francisco office. Responsibilities Create, update, and manage a wide variety of procurement contract templates and playbooks for Salesforce s purchase of goods, services, and technology from third party providers. Partner with our Commercial Legal team to understand and track Salesforce s obligations to its customers, and create contracts, policies, and processes that ensure our vendors and subcontractors fulfill such obligations. Track laws and regulations to which Salesforce is subject as a provider of technology and services to government customers, ensuring associated policies and processes for Salesforce s subcontractors and subprocessors are implemented. Develop creative process improvements that enable Salesforce to scale its vendor engagement efforts while thoughtfully protecting the company from legal and regulatory risk. Represent Procurement Legal related to Salesforce s M&A and integration efforts. Create and deliver training programs for Salesforce employees and vendors related to vendor risk management. Required Skills/Experience: Strong academic credentials and admission to one state bar. Ten years or more relevant experience, with at least three years as transactional legal counsel working with enterprises including multinational public companies. In-house experience developing and implementing policies and processes, preferably at a fast-growing multinational public company. Sound judgment, creativity, and the ability to think strategically; ability to give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives. Excellent communicator (in English) with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels and varying functions across the company. Self-starter and ability to work with limited direction. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, fluid, and deadline-driven environment. Deliberate and thoughtful, but with a strong sense of urgency to get things done Intellectual curiosity and interest in the technology industry. Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take on special projects. Desired Skills: Knowledge and experience in relation to commercial law, software and web services, and general familiarity with IP and technology licensing, anti-corruption, marketing, advertising, data privacy and security, and compliance.
