OVERVIEW Gap Inc requires a dynamic lawyer, with strong aspirations to grow, innovate and push boundaries, to join its Global Legal team. The role is based in San Francisco reporting to the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, also based in San Francisco. Solution oriented, strategic thinker with sound judgement, the lawyer will manage one seasoned paralegal and advise on, handle and manage a variety of complex and high value contracts with third parties often under time pressure. This position will work closely with business partners for each of the brands of Gap Inc as well as Corporate Functional teams such as Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Product Safety Team, Strategic Sourcing, GapTech and others who are based in San Francisco, NYC, London and elsewhere around the world. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide practical and strategic legal advice and guidance to the business and corporate support functions in relation to all aspects of complex and high value third party agreements (variety of areas such as technology related, logistics and transportation, third party product licensing and manufacturing) Undertake or manage the drafting, negotiating and finalizing contracts and other types of agreements Partner with the Legal IP, Privacy, Compliance teams or others where subject matter expertise requires it Build relationships with legal colleagues and key stakeholders to effectively provide legal and strategic advice to assist the business to meet its objectives Provide leadership to and management of seasoned paralegal KEY EXPERIENCES Qualified in US (Juris Doctor) with a minimum of 8 years experience Prior relevant work experience in a reputable law firm and/or multinational companies is a prerequisite Prior relevant experience handling commercial transactions related to the technology and digital landscape highly desirable Experience of intellectual property work a bonus Proven ability to balance legal and business objectives Experience with process management and corporate policy development and implementation highly desirable Proven ability to navigate complex organizations effectively Proven ability to effectively influence, collaborate and build partnerships with legal peers and the businesses KEY BENEFITS: Merchandise discount for our brands: 50% off regular-priced merchandise at Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy, 30% off at Outlet and 25% off at Athleta.
