Senior Compliance Attorney

Senior Compliance Attorney Responsibilities: Act as lead compliance attorney supporting the business on all legal matters relating to administration of FMLA, state and municipal leave laws and short and long-term disability plans on behalf of clients. Participate in new client presentations and generally represent Product Compliance expertise to the external market through participation in industry conferences and webinars and writing whitepapers and articles. Monitor and analyze new laws, agency guidance and caselaw affecting products and services. Assist with legal training needs, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and general employment law matters. Draft blog posts on an ongoing basis on trends or changes in the law.

Qualifications: Law degree from accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one state. 5+ years of experience in handling matters involving ADA, FMLA and LOA laws at the state and federal level. Experience with Leave of Absence Management systems preferred. Communicates Effectively. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates Business Knowledge. Ability to organize tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Improves and innovates. Uses Sound Judgment and be able to identify compliance issues that arise in the business. Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw, legislative software and on-line legislative services). Ability to keep up with new technology.
