Job Duties and Responsibilities To add to our team of talented people, we are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel, eDiscovery. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with best-in-class policies and procedures related to DISH s discovery obligations in litigation and government investigations. The Corporate Counsel will lead the Legal Department's program for eDiscovery, including issues related to information preservation, retrieval, analysis, and production. The Corporate Counsel will also advise the business on potential eDiscovery and other issues arising out of current or planned technologies and retention of business records. The Corporate Counsel will also handle certain litigation matters. Primary responsibilities include: Ensuring that the Company maintains best-in-class policies and procedures for the preservation of information subject to a Legal Hold; Setting eDiscovery team goals and policies; Defining Legal eDiscovery procedures and practices; advising in creation of IT-eDiscovery processes; Managing all eDiscovery resources and spend; Partnering with merits counsel to retrieve needed information, respond to eDiscovery disputes, address issues in litigation, and develop discovery strategies; Providing Legal input on corporate IT system developments and deployments; Educating and training business units on importance of Legal Holds, communication etiquette, and data security; Managing discovery vendor relationships; and Managing litigation matters Skills - Experience and Requirements The candidate should have the following: J.D. degree with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school; 5+ years of litigation experience at a major law firm or corporation, including planning and management of complex discovery projects; Solid understanding of common eDiscovery and data management tools and familiarity with relevant service providers; 1-3 years experience managing employees; Demonstrated project management capability; and Admission to the Colorado Bar, or the ability to become admitted promptly under Rule 222 of the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure (Single-Client Counsel).
