Corporate Counsel Duties: Work directly with the business, serving as legal counsel for GRS US specialty insurance operation. Duties will include providing day-to-day advice to our underwriting, distribution, and claims organizations and guidance on regulatory compliance matters; drafting and reviewing insurance policies and advising on coverages and exposures; resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; handling non-litigated disputes; structuring, negotiating and drafting strategic agreements; and being an active member of cross-functional project teams. Represent and advise internal clients in substantial legal and business transactions that often involve a high degree of original and creative legal endeavor, evaluation of complex or novel issues, or vigorous adverse parties. Participates in the development and innovation of products and draft and review policy wordings. Draft and negotiate contracts with key partners. Performs comprehensive research on surplus lines or other insurance regulatory matters and advise clients accordingly. Manage a fast-paced and diverse workflow. Advise the Company and internal clients on product innovations questions complicated by the absence of precedent. Coordinate and synthesize the Company s position in response to changes in the law. May assign, direct and review the work of law clerks and paralegals. May prepare and conduct training sessions for internal clients. Maintain current knowledge of legal issues and developments in the law. Other duties may vary based on client need.

Qualifications: Completion of law school with a J.D. or L.L.B. degree and admission to the bar of at least one jurisdiction in the United States required. Generally requires 5+ years' experience as a practicing attorney. Requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills, client focus, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis of legal issues. Experience with surplus lines laws and regulations preferred.
