Employment Counsel - Americas/India The candidate will work for company s Americas and India regions. Will help the company attract, pay and retain the best talent in the world. Will serve as a key partner and liaison between company s Human Resources and its leaders, managers and employees. Will also guide company s HR and employees on how to manage and protect employee data while complying with the laws of many jurisdictions, including the European Union s General Data Protection Regulation. Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Worldwide Employment and Compliance, serve as employment counsel for the company in its Americas region (US, Canada and Latin America) and India, advising the company Human Resources team, managers and other stakeholders on the laws and regulations affecting employees and contractors in the United States and around the world. Cultivate a deep partnership and build strong relationships with the company s Human Resources team, other stakeholders, and senior leadership globally for purposes of providing both strategic advice and daily guidance. Innovate and drive strategic improvements in how the company meets its goal of attracting and retaining world-class talent. Manage and defend the company in employment- and compliance-related litigation, claims, investigations, and subpoenas. Monitor, assess, and report on the company s global compliance with employment-related laws and regulations. Monitor and provide guidance on laws and regulations relating to the use of employee data around the world, including the EU s GDPR and data privacy laws in the Americas and India. Establish and manage global relationships with and coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel and other vendors to agreed-upon budget. Innovate and drive world class employee training programs.

Admission to the California Bar is required. 5+ years of experience in employment law is required, with 6-8 years preferred. In-house experience at a multinational company preferred. Experience advising employers on employment laws and regulations in countries outside the US, especially in India, Latin America and Canada, preferred. Must be extremely organized, detail oriented and customer focused; have strong written and verbal communication skills; be successful at building relationships across functions; and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic high technology environment. Demonstrated experience providing outstanding legal support to a human resources organization on a wide range of employment-related topics. Subject matter expertise with respect to a wide range of employment-related regulations and trends. Proven high level of integrity, professionalism, and trust, including in dealing with complex and sensitive matters. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to establish and execute on clear goals, objectives, and priorities consistent with the organization s vision. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with, and leading and motivating, other employees in team and matrixed environments to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined timelines. Limited domestic and global travel. Solid Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook. Ability to follow established procedures and processes established by the Legal department and governmental guidelines.
