Contracts Attorney

Contracts Attorney The candidate will independently reviewing, drafting and negotiating routine agreements and handling other legal matters and projects, as assigned. Independently review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements in connection with firm s day-to-day activities, including but not limited to vendor agreements, academic research agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, addenda/amendments, confidentiality agreements and statements of work. Serve as primary contact for internal clients during the contract negotiation phase and provide status updates on contract negotiations. Assist with updating and maintaining standard contract templates customary to firm's day-to-day activities. Engage other members of the legal team as needed to ensure contract compliance with appropriate laws and regulations and adherence to company policies, business procedures and contracting standards. Manage and complete any additional projects or legal matters assigned by other members of the legal team.

The candidate must have Juris Doctor Degree. Must have minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience as a practicing attorney working with commercial contracts is required. Experience in the life sciences industry and a working knowledge of concepts relative to the industry is strongly preferred. Should have ability to independently review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements quickly and carefully. Should have ability to quickly and effectively review agreements in the context of business circumstances and provide advice that recognizes and integrates legal risk, business objectives and negotiation leverage. Should have ability to identify, call out and resolve contractual issues together with the legal team. Must have ability to start and continue tasks independently as well as work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a collegian and dynamic team. Must have flexibility and a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, to work with minimal supervision and to meet externally imposed deadlines in a fast-paced, energetic and high-activity environment. Project management skills with an emphasis on organization and demonstrated diligence in following up on outstanding matters is required. Good business judgment and excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong oral and written communication skills is required. Should have ability to interact effectively, efficiently, and professionally with third parties and FMI colleagues cross-functionally. Must have experience working in the life sciences industry.
