Counsel 3 Technology and Telecommunications Counsel The candidate will provide effective and strategic legal and regulatory advice and support for Enterprise Information Technology, which provides technology products, services and enterprise governance for customers, business partners, and team members. Work with and advise IT professionals, technologists, and privacy and data security professionals on compliance with U.S. federal, state, and global laws and regulations related to information technology and telecommunications technology, global server technology, database architecture, and information networks. Review, advise on, revise, or assist in negotiating both inbound and outbound technology-related contracts. Have a working knowledge of privacy, data security, and intellectual property laws. Analyze laws, regulations, and corporate policies and standards related to wireless and wireline telecommunications technology and other communications solutions, information technology, software development and licensing, geocompliance, hardware leasing and acquisition. Be skilled with gathering information in a fast-paced business environment, understanding business needs and goals, detecting legal issues and obstacles, identifying legal solutions and alternatives, and succinctly and competently counseling and communicating with technology professionals and managers regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives. The candidate should have active State Bar membership. Should have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Must have experience related to technology-related outsourcing and offshoring, including legal risk assessments and due diligence. Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters is preferred. Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries is desired. Should have strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Familiarity with e911 laws and prior experience dealing with non-U.S. laws related to telecommunications is desired. Knowledge of information security laws and standards preferred. Knowledge of intellectual property laws preferred. Knowledge of software development is desired. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills that gain the trust and confidence of technical and business audiences are preferred. Ability to advise and counsel technology teams is desired. Close Date 11/28/2018 .
