Data Protection and Privacy Counsel The candidate will take a lead role in working our Chief Privacy Office to advise engineering and product development teams on incorporating privacy by design/drafting creative answers for privacy risks, conducting privacy impact assessments, and devising remediation strategies. Will also work closely with the Data Protection Program Office to drive compliance monitoring and enforcement capabilities and activities. Have the opportunity to work with a dynamic, cross-functional and experienced team on privacy issues impacting firm's products and businesses around the world. Work directly with other attorneys, HR, business and operations leads, and engineering teams to design creative privacy solutions and compliance practices for our products and internal operations. Also collaborate with Government Affairs team in influencing legislation and industry standards related to data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity. Provide legal counsel on all aspects of domestic and international laws and regulations concerning privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity. Also advise on privacy by design/default, build creative solutions to address privacy risks, conduct privacy impact assessments, and devise cost-effective, efficient remediation strategies in line with corporate risk tolerance. Support data protection and privacy compliance monitoring and enforcement activities. Research, track, and turn regulations and enforcement trends into practical, actionable advice are additional duties for this role. Work with Government Affairs to influence legislation, standards, and frameworks and develop/update internal policies, templates, and playbooks. In addition, resolve advanced deal negotiations and customer inquiries related to privacy. Should have strong academic credentials. Must have Licensed to practice law in a jurisdiction where firm's does business. Must have 3 years of expertise in global data protection, privacy, and/or security law and practice, external certification (CIPP/E/US/A, CISM, CISA, CISSP, etc.) and/or prior product counseling experience a plus.
