Assistant General Counsel , Employment Legal Corporate The candidate will be providing advice and guidance to business and functional areas regarding hiring, separations, and other employment matters; drafting and negotiating employment agreements and separation documents. Will be handling employment-related pre-litigation and litigation matters, including working closely with outside counsel, coordinating document and e-discovery searches and productions, etc. Handling internal investigations and employee relations issues and coordinating with relevant lines of business and functional areas to respond to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and threatened or actual litigation. Providing guidance regarding internal policies and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Participating in or leading ad hoc projects or strategic initiatives.

The candidate should have a JD degree with strong academic credentials. Must have 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm. Additional experience in-house at a financial services institution is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills essential. Strong written and verbal communications skills; essential. Must actively be licensed to practice law in the State of New York. E-discovery and matter management experience; and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is needed.
