In this key role, you will be involved in reviewing drafting, and negotiating a variety of customer facing agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs) relating to development and commercial manufacturing operations, amendments to supply and development agreements and ancillary documents. The position includes a substantial amount of communication with internal and external customers. What will you do? Drafting, reviewing, analyzing, modifying and negotiating a variety of complex commercial and development agreements and other contractual instruments with clients with the support of contracting team. Interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise on same. Partnering with internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, as appropriate, in a continued effort to streamline contract related processes as well as integrate templates across Business Units and functions. Providing direction and guidance related to the contracting process. Providing input to the development, maintenance, and management of contracting policies and procedures. Initiate and/or lead the development of innovative approaches to contracting requirements, obligations and exposures. Ensuring conformity to business needs, proper risk allocation and compliance with the policies and procedures of the Business Unit. Supporting the global contracting process and technology strategy as defined by the Business Unit. Facilitating internal contract approval and stakeholder negotiation to resolve complex issues and assist in disputes (escalating complex legal and factual issues to the appropriate internal parties). Communicates with business units ensuring all obligations are being met (e.g., milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.). Utilizes the contract management system to track and report contractual obligations. Educating business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy and other considerations by providing follow up information to clients and senior management to ensure timely performance and adherence to terms of contracts. Prepares contract summaries to assure proper interpretation of contracts. Verifying compliance with applicable laws and internal policies and procedures. How will you get there? Education Position requires a Juris Doctorate and membership in good standing with the State Bar. Experience 7+ years of business experience, including developing negotiating and managing a wide variety of commercial contracts and development agreements, within the pharmaceutical industry or similar contract manufacturing/supply chain solution provider. Proven negotiation abilities and business acumen Customer centric and solutions oriented approach in supporting both external and internal clients while protecting the best interest of the company Experience in a global business environment Experience developing, driving and implementing legal solutions Ability to deliver strong results with limited resources, under tight deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information Team player capable of leading and participating within cross-functional project teams to meet key milestones under tight timelines and stressful conditions Proven research and analytical skills Strong understanding of commercial and financial implications of strategy development process Strong project and process management capabilities Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication and presentation styles Strong work ethic with ability to work independently In-house counsel experience preferred This position has not been approved for relocation assistance.
