Associate Counsel, Legal Affairs, Cable Entertainment The candidate will identify and analyze legal issues relating to projects in development and production for both scripted and/or unscripted projects. Draft and negotiate various development and production agreements (e.g., above and below-the-line agreements, staff writer agreements, certificates of results and proceeds, quitclaims, etc.) and other legal documents (e.g., non-disclosure agreements). Handle other legal matters arising during development and production (e.g., indemnification/insurance matters, physical clearances, implementation of other NBCU legal policies, etc.). Partner with colleagues in the Law Department to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes in connection with business needs. Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical, responsive solutions. Identify and implement improvements to forms and processes. Interact with attorneys, agents, and other representatives for talent/other counter-parties, as requested by VP of Legal Affairs and/or other senior attorneys. Perform other tasks to support department attorneys. Must be Member of the California bar or other U.S. state bar. Should have JD or LLM from an accredited law school. Must have experience in entertainment, intellectual property, fair use, pre-broadcast review, production experience and/or other relevant experience.
