Corporate Counsel The candidate will seeks to maximize the companys revenue while minimizing the legal and business risk associated with that revenue. Manage all litigation received state, federal or third party filed. Make decisions with regard to overall litigation strategy. Hire and manage outside counsel, as needed. Coordinate and set final repair attempts. Respond to demands, notices, attorney correspondence. Research information needed for motions. Review / research and respond to interrogatories and production. Hire and assign experts. Assess reporting requirements under our insurance carrier. Attend mediations, hearings, trials, depositions, etcetera. Determine possible resolutions/alternatives to further litigation. Ensure all deadlines for motions, information, discovery, responses, etc. Perform status checks every 30 days, as needed. Drafts, reviews, and negotiates all company contracts including but not limited to license and distribution agreements; development, consulting, purchasing, sales and related contracts; non-disclosure agreements. Provides information and advice on labor and employment law issues. Drive continuous improvement in areas of legal fees, settlements, and associated costs. Provide notification of any known fatalities to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Upholding and overseeing document retention policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with legal, contractual, and risk management policies to minimize and limit corporate liability, manage risk, and optimize value of contracts. Recommends alternative actions as required to conform with corporate policies and strategies. Provides periodic training on a variety of legal-related subjects. Performs periodic administrative audits including but not limited to corporate documents review, contracts, employment conditions, intellectual property, and insurance and guarantees. Oversees compliance with applicable statues and regulations, reviews pertinent laws and regulations, and provides legal advice to all company departments and staff. Represents company in administrative and judicial proceedings not handled by outside counsel. Possesses and maintains thorough, current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Must have Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution and be licensed to practice law in the state. Must have 5-7+ years related experience or equivalent. Must have excellence and high standards. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Should have ability to work with all levels of management. Should have proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
