Associate Counsel, Intellectual Property The candidate will be analyzing agreements at all stages of production and thereafter advising on issues such as distribution rights, remake / sequel rights, live stage rights, merchandising / interactive rights, and theme park rights. Will be analyzing copyright and related issues associated with the exercise of rights. Communicating to firm business and legal divisions, both verbally and in writing, regarding deal terms and contractual language related to rights. Searching and reviewing corporate files, databases, and other sources for relevant information about titles. Entering rights analyses into firms proprietary rights database / application.

The candidate should have a JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school. Outstanding academic credentials desired. Should have 2+ years of experience in the media law field, either at a law firm or comparable corporate setting. Member of California Bar or other US State Bar. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships with multiple business units and their representatives preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a large workload and meet deadlines under pressure desired.
