Corporate Counsel The candidate provide legal advice and support to the business regarding a diverse range of legal issues. Review RFPs/RFQs and assist team leads with completing responses. Assist with client, key subcontractor or other third party negotiations and prepare construction/commercial contracts and legal documents. Engage with project managers and team leads to prepare work orders, change orders, and amending agreements, and address contractual issues as they arise during the term of the contract. Supervise contract administrators that support the contract management process. Oversee the onboarding requirements of subcontractors. Assist with the handover of finalized contracts to the business, and support ongoing management of such contracts throughout the contract lifecycle. Support commercial transactions and the transition of claims and litigation matters to in-house litigation counsel. Provide legal advice and support to the business, including interpretation of relevant federal and state legislation and regulations. Anticipate business issues, investigate underlying causes and develop and implement practical short and long-term solutions to legal problems. Provide research, advice and other legal assistance to senior lawyers and/or the business regarding a diverse range of legal issues. May lead individuals, teams or projects and manage the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching. The candidate should have law degree combined with 2-5 years of law firm or corporate legal department experience. Must be member in good standing of a state bar. Should have strong corporate / commercial legal skills, including excellent drafting, negotiation and attention to detail. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. Should have ability to influence others when explaining / presenting complex ideas. Must have ability to establish clear direction to others, and comfortable with task delegation. Must have demonstrated understanding of the key industry trends and market changes, with the ability to develop distinct legal strategies accordingly.
