Corporate Counsel, Contracts and Compliance The candidate will be responsible and accountable for drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, with emphasis on revenue-generating contracts with debt-seller clients, under the guidance and direction of senior members of the Legal & Deal Management teams. In addition to the drafting and negotiation of debt-seller contracts, and as a secondary responsibility, will also provide legal support to the Compliance Department regarding policies and processes including the recommendation of enhancements to minimize risk and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Interact regularly with internal stakeholders across multiple business units and functional groups, ensuring that all contracting processes are followed, including obtaining and documenting any approvals required in connection with each contract. Facilitate the resolution of business and legal issues; formulating recommendations using analysis, creativity and the development of new approaches to enable contract execution. Safeguard the Company and create a positive client experience all in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Participate in and contribute to the development and on-going review of relevant processes, guidelines and procedures relating to the Companys contracting activities. Be responsible for executing risk-based operational assessments and assisting with other compliance matters and projects to ensure compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, and all applicable Federal and State statutes, regulations, and case law precedent. Must have contract management expertise, financial services compliance experience, excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills, substantive experience drafting and negotiating contracts while maintaining strong, vibrant internal and external client relationships. Financial services experience required. Should have 5+ years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with creditor rights, consumer law, bankruptcy, litigation defense, administrative law, loan servicing or financial services law; in-house practice; Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or equivalent; Experience related to process management, particularly within the context of a corporate legal department. Must have JD from accredited law school. Should have in a state bar.
