Senior Counsel, Labor & Employment Law Responsibilities: Act as lead day-to-day Employment and Labor Relations attorney. Provide additional employment law support for business units in Latin America and for local television stations in certain markets. Advise management, Human Resources and other lawyers with respect to all employment law issues, including business restructuring, employment policy development and application, worker classification, workforce management, discrimination and harassment claims, wage-and-hour and workplace safety. Oversee and provide counsel on internal investigations of employment-related and other types of complaints, ensuring that claims are addressed promptly, thoroughly and appropriately. Represent, working with other and outside counsel as appropriate, with respect to mediation and litigation of employment claims and the employment-related aspects of acquisitions and dispositions of businesses. Draft settlement and separation agreements; draft mediation briefs and EEOC position statements and responses. Create and deliver management and employee training programs. Provide strategic advice and counsel regarding labor law and union contract obligations. Act on behalf of company, with support as necessary, in grievances, arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. Advise client in connection with response to union organizing activity. Qualifications: Law degree. Member in good standing of the State Bar of Florida or member in good standing of another State Bar and registered as in-house counsel. 6+ years of Employment law and Labor Relations experience. Bilingual in Spanish (written and oral). Desired: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a range of personalities and styles and establish effective relationships within all levels of the organization. Strong leadership and influencing skills. Clear thinker with ability to quickly identify root causes of problems and develop creative and strategic solutions. Experience in the entertainment industry and with entertainment industry labor relations. Adaptable and collaborative style. Self-motivated with a demanding work ethic.
