Managing Attorney First Party Homeowners Litigation

Managing Attorney First Party Homeowner's Litigation The candidate will be a part of the Florida management team leading and supervising a team of attorneys who are geographically disbursed throughout the state. Providing legal representation to organization, team of attorneys will be handling cases from beginning to end before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of first party homeowner s defense litigation. In this role, will also take on responsibilities such as making employment decisions, handling performance management, monitoring the department budget, making compensation decisions and developing employees. The candidate should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Must have active license to practice law in Florida. Should have 5 years civil litigation with a strong emphasis on first party property cases in lieu of general/auto civil litigation experience. Previous management/leadership experience strongly preferred. Significant legal experience with a thorough understanding and working knowledge of applicable laws and rules of evidence, civil procedure, trial practice and tort is required. Should have experience handling all aspects of litigation, including expert discovery and trial, in moderate to high complexity lawsuits. Must recognizes and understands the legal issues in personal injury and insurance coverage litigation. Should have thorough understanding and working knowledge of medical and other technical information. Must have thorough understanding and excellent working knowledge of applicable laws and rules such as evidence, civil procedure, trial practice and tort. Should have ability to identify the risks inherent in a case. Must have ability to execute organizational strategy.
