Corporate Counsel, Privacy 2018-6310 Locations: Mountain View, California Overview The Privacy Counsel will be part of a diverse and talented legal team responsible for leading and advising the business on innovative uses of personal data in our multi-product ecosystem. The position reports directly to the Chief Privacy Officer and joins a world class privacy team. The Privacy Counsel should have experience in privacy legal product review, technology, and possess a thirst for learning and developing their legal and privacy career such that they will be able to understand the most important privacy-related laws, regulations and standards that apply to Intuits businesses, and be accountable for training both business and legal partners on those rules. The Privacy Counsel will help support Intuits data stewardship vision and collaborate on customer products, general privacy program compliance, and worker data privacy -- driving, partnering, and helping develop innovative approaches to complex issues. Responsibilities Help evolve the Companys global privacy program and help implement compliance with global privacy and cybersecurity requirements working closely with the privacy team and the business directly Evaluate business products and services to ensure compliance with privacy requirements Provides direct legal counsel and advice to the broader legal team and business groups Work collaboratively across legal groups to support legal priorities, initiatives, acquisitions, transactions, and product review Support colleagues in government affairs on privacy and data protection regulations and potential privacy laws Under direction of more senior attorney (but with minimal supervision), drives and manages all aspects of large privacy program implementation Other responsibilities include supporting: incident and breach management, digital marketing and online behavioral tracking/OBA, direct marketing, TCPA training and compliance materials, cross border data flow/privacy shield, and cybersecurity requirements Qualifications 2-7 years of experience practicing legal product review, privacy, and data protection in-house or at a top law firm or in a regulatory capacity Knowledge of and experience analyzing and advising on global privacy laws and data protection regulations, such as the EU GDPR, Privacy Shield, PIPEDA, FTC Act/Section 5, GLBA, FCRA Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and drive innovation at multiple levels JD from a top law school and good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar Engineering, technology, or businesses background a plus and/or a technical undergrad degree Imagine a career where your creative inspiration can fuel BIG innovation.
