Senior Associate General Counsel, Labor And Employment

Senior Associate General Counsel, Labor and Employment The candidate will advise on labor and employment matters to include hiring, terminations, discrimination, wage & hour issues, disability accommodation, state and federal compliance (e.g., ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, OFCCP and WARN Act) and investigations. Manage employment arbitrations and litigation. Support resolution of attorney demand letters, and Federal, state and local agency claims and charges. Provide comprehensive employment law support for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Prepare, negotiate and evaluate risks involved with complex employment and similar agreements, including those containing employee non-competes and other restrictive covenants. Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry-leading practices and trends. Provide educational information and training on labor and employment matters. Occasional travel.

The candidate should have JD, with 10+ years of legal experience focused on labor and employment matters with a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and related compliance issues is required. Should have license to practice law in state of residence or ability to become licensed in MN. Experience advising businesses having operations in multiple states is a plus. Experience with mergers and acquisitions is preferred. Experience with international employment law and/or a global business model is a plus. Health care industry experience is required. Some traditional Labor Law experience is a plus.
