Senior Privacy Counsel

Senior Privacy Counsel The candidate is responsible to support Product, Engineering, and Sales teams by working with customers, prospective customers, and partners on privacy and product-related questions regarding Lookers products and services. Conduct privacy-by-design reviews and help formulate innovative solutions to ensure products and website are market leaders in privacy and cyber-security features. Partner with the Legal team in customer negotiations, including supporting the drafting and negotiation of privacy-related agreements, including data processing agreements. Ensure Lookers compliance with all applicable global privacy and data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and E-privacy Regulation, UK Data Protection Regulation, Japan Data Protection Regulation, and US Federal and State privacy and breach laws. Partner with members of the legal, security, engineering, sales, marketing and People and Places teams, and outside counsel to help ensure the companys compliance with laws, regulations and customer contacts. Iterate on and maintain internal privacy policies and procedures, provide input to security and data governance policies. Develop training materials and provide training to employees on privacy-related obligations. The candidate must have 7+ years of experience, including at least 5 years specializing in privacy and data protection matters (combination of law firm and in-house experience strongly preferred). Sound business judgment and appreciation for risk tolerance and priorities is needed. Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, drafting and negotiation skills are must. Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude is critical. Must be Team-oriented and collaborative. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment is must. Experience in and/or knowledge of software-as-a-service and internet industries and technical concepts is necessary. Must be Licensed to practice law in California. Certified Information Privacy Professional is preferred.
