Corporate Attorney Responsibilities: Advises, consults, litigates and performs trial work, and carries out the legal processes necessary to affect the rights, privileges, and obligations of the organization. Gathers evidence and information for management decision making. Prepares, reviews and maintains various legal instruments and documents, such as employment contracts, business contracts, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, etc. Counsels and advises management on a wide variety of complex and developing employment related legal issues. Works with management to manage labor and employment legal risk. Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit. Examines material, such as advertisements, publications, etc., for legal implications, advising officials of proposed legislation that might affect the organization. Applies for copyrights or registration of the organizations products, processes, devices, and trademarks, advising whether to initiate or defend law suits. Conducts pretrial preparations and defends the organization in lawsuits. Advises officials on tax matters, government regulations, and/or legal rights. Represents the company before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of the government. Serves as liaison with international law partners on legal issues within the assigned country. Assists with collection efforts on delinquent Accounts Receivable balances. Requirements: JD Degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. Proven experience as a legal counsel in a business environment, employment law helpful. Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures. Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information. Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills.
