Employment Counsel The candidate will be a key member of firm's employment law team within the Global Legal and Compliance Department. Will advise Human Resources business partners across firm'ss divisions regarding time-sensitive and complex labor and employment issues. Experience with labor and employment laws in Michigan, New Jersey, California, Florida, Arizona, Puerto Rico and Texas preferred. Respond to charges of discrimination filed with U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and/or state agencies. Advise on post-employment restrictive covenants, including non-compete and non-solicitation obligations. Conduct sensitive internal investigations regarding suspected violations of firm's policy. Review and develop HR policies and procedures. Develop and conduct corporate trainings regarding labor and employment practices, and developments in national employment laws. Collaborate with firm's litigation counsel on employment litigation matters. Participate in merger and acquisition due diligence activities. Independently draft, edit and negotiate basic contracts. Provide timely advice and counsel to clients. Provide accurate information and research to a supervisor regarding laws and regulations. Follow and educate others on internal processes. Collaborate and communicate with colleagues, management, and outside counsel. Assist on other matters as needed. The candidate should have Law degree and admission to practice law in at least one state. Must have 5 years applicable professional experience; prior professional experience considered. Possesses strong analytical and drafting skills. Experience providing timely legal advice in a highly regulated environment preferred. Possesses strong communication skills and ability to convey complex legal principles clearly and concisely. Must have general understanding of business financials and reporting. Demonstrates proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
