Associate Counsel, Trade Compliance The candidate is responsible for providing Legal expertise with supply chain logistics, trade compliance, manufacturing and/or procurement. Coordinate and manage outside law firms with respect to customs, export, and cross-border compliance. Interface with FDA and Customs officials with respect to import-related matters, including, requests for information, FDA import alerts, and import detentions. Provide internal education and training on relevant legal issues, develop processes to support business compliance needs and efficiencies. Additional responsibilities may include broad range of compliance and regulatory issues as well as matters relating to document production and retention.

The candidate must have Licensed, practicing attorney with minimum 5-7 years of experience at AM Law 200 firm and/or Fortune 1000 company. Familiarity with regulations relating to cosmetics, OTC products, and/or consumer products including U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Food and Drug Administration Import Operations is needed. Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is required. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with business clients and other legal members of the legal department is essential. Should be a Member of the New York State Bar. Experience within the cosmetics, retail or consumer products industry is desired.
