Assistant General Counsel, Privacy Legal

Assistant General Counsel, Privacy Legal Duties: Drive and own all deliverables related to the legal and compliance components of privacy related projects. Provide guidance, direction and practical translation of legal requirements to cross-functional teams on complex projects. Draft and implement applicable privacy policies and procedures for the company. Help manage appropriate notice distribution and opt out processes. Review proposed data use cases and assist with corporate data governance function. Assist business unit attorneys with matters of privacy law. Work closely with business unit leaders. May participate in industry and professional groups on behalf of the company. Prepares or advises on complex legal documents or briefs such as: leases, licenses, purchase or sales agreements, employment contracts, litigation pleadings, insurance contracts or other company legal documents. Plans, conducts and supervises legal assignments which may have a major bearing on the conduct of the companys business. May conduct or participate in major and unique company litigation. Will communicate directly with regulators on behalf of the company. Works closely with top management advising on changes in laws and regulations. Evaluates the impact on the company and may develop the companys position on the changes. Retains and directs outside counsel. May supervise lower level attorney(s) and/or paraprofessionals. Qualifications: JD degree required. State Bar admission. 8-12 years of privacy compliance experience. Proficient comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation. Ability to communicate legal guidance, proactive recommendations, and strategies to the business. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information. Outstanding communication skills. Preferred qualifications: Frequent demand to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines. Ability to provide quality legal services based on experience in a timely manner. Must be able to prioritize to meet deadlines. Must possess excellent organizational skills.
