Privacy Counsel The Candidate will be responsible to lead the ongoing support, continued integration, and periodic training ofs recently launched global data privacy program across North and South America, Europe and Australia. Regionalize and localize guidance where needed to meet the needs of our consumers or creators. Plan for compliance with the CCPA and Brazils General Data Privacy Law. Work closely with the product attorneys to advise on privacy impact of new product launches and marketing & communication practices. Advise on privacy and data security provisions of third party customer and vendor contracts. Proactively analyze proposed regulations constantly performing risk assessments to determine what, if any, modifications our current program or practices require. Concisely articulate privacy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, or internal and external meetings. Support M&A transactions and/or financing transactions, including post-close integration efforts. Manage Data Protection Impact Assessments & Records of Processing Activities. Continue Privacy by Design efforts to create compliance efficiencies within the product. Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, sales, and customer experience to create internal programs promoting privacy standards as a metric for success. Advise on the sufficiency of cybersecurity insurance. Work closely with the Security and Corp Comms team in the event of a data incident. Stay on top of the privacy landscape across Silicon Valley and similar platform-based businesses. The candidate should have 7+ years of product and privacy counselling with extensive experience advising on domestic and global privacy issues, including the GDPR, ePrivacy directive, Section 5 of FTC Act relating to privacy, anti spam and cookie regulations and should enjoy leading cross-functional projects, partnering with active business development, engineering, product, and marketing teams and you are good at it. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to inform an audience accurately and completely, while being concise and digestible. Critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to analyze regulatory requirements, product limitations, and the effectiveness of proposed resolutions. Collaborative team player with an ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple fast-moving, and high-priority projects simultaneously.
