Senior Counsel - Government Business Duties: Provides ongoing legal advice and support to leaders across growing business with the US Government including partnering with teams pursuing new business opportunities, delivering for customers and ensuring adherence to DOD business systems and other regulatory requirements. Provide leaders with expert, practical, legal and business advice on complex US Government business issues. Helping shape both strategic and tactical actions within regulatory boundaries to maximize value for customers. Keeping the business safe in a highly scrutinized regulatory environment. Work as a member of the Government Business Legal Department to assist GE Aviation on all aspects of its US Government business including: Part 12, Part 15, TCoPD, Cost Accounting Standards, DoD Business System Requirements, Domestic Product Preferences, Procurement Integrity, Business Development and Cybersecurity. Manage referral of matters to in-house legal specialists and occasionally outside counsel. Develop relationships with external customers and regulatory counsels. Lead compliance investigations and initiatives. Play an integral role in military business growth strategy. Under minimal supervision, plans, conducts and supervises complex legal assignments, requiring an ability to evaluate matters that may have a major bearing on conducting the Companys business.

Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school. 10+ years of experience in US Government contract law Including: FAR Part 12, Part 15 (and applicable DFARS), TCoPD, Cost Accounting Standards, Cost Principles, and Domestic Product Preferences. Member in good standing with a State Bar. Desired Characteristics: Prior experience, either in house or at a law firm, in any of the following areas: Litigation, Commercial, Government Contracts, Intellectual Property, Corporate. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Capability to work independently. Think clearly and quickly under pressure and the Composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests. A strong commitment to professionalism. A superior work history which affirmatively demonstrates leadership. Superior analytical, presentation, and writing skills.
